saṉ-nyāsin

mfn. laying aside, giving up, abandoning, renouncing, AshṭāvS. ;

abstaining from food Bhaṭṭ. ;
m. one who abandons orﾠ resigns worldly affairs, an ascetic, devotee (who has renounced all earthly concerns andﾠ devotes himself, to meditation andﾠ the study of the Āraṇyakas orﾠ Upanishadas, a Brāhman in the fourth Āṡrama <q.v.> orﾠ stage of his life, a religious mendicant;
